"Loved the food here. Went for lunch last week. Ordered a papaya salad (yum), mushroom fried rice (good), and a pork bird's eye chilli with rice (excellent). Portion sizes were good."

"Amazing food, I have to admit that I’m not a big fan of seafood and you find here a series of dishes that you can enjoy. We tried the special drinks of Bael and chrysanthemum, those two were good with your food. I ordered the Thai tea and I found it more like a dessert. We were 7 and ordered several plates. They don’t arrive at the same time so I would recommend to share, it was fun to se the food come around."

"Delicious food and fairly priced. The river prawns and fried fish are the must order! Fried rice, medium size is a lot. So if not too hungry go with the small one to not waste food. Tum yum soup is so so though."

"We visited Krua Apsorn @Dinso and overall had a very enjoyable experience. One thing to note is that the portions look more generous in the menu photos than in real life, but we ordered four different dishes and every single one was delicious, full of flavor and very well prepared. The restaurant is quite noisy; during our visit there was a large group of locals and the atmosphere was loud, more shouting than talking. I am not sure if this is typical or just part of the local vibe, but it is something to keep in mind. Also, ice is charged separately if you ask for it. Despite these small details, we would definitely come back. The food is absolutely worth it. Final note on value: about $7.50 USD per person, including food, drinks, and ice."

"My Absolute Favorite: Krua Apsorn – A Must-Try for Thai Food Lovers, Including Vegetarians! Krua Apsorn is hands down one of my all-time favorite restaurants. This beloved Thai eatery boasts a rich history of over 27 years, dedicated to sharing authentic Thai cuisine with everyone. Their focus is on presenting simple, heartwarming Thai dishes, with a core philosophy rooted in meticulous care and quality ingredients. While famous for classics like their incredibly flavorful Gaeng Lueang Lai Bua Goong Sod (yellow curry with lotus stems and fresh prawns), the aromatic Poo Pad Pong Karee (stir-fried crab with yellow curry powder), and the delightful Kai Poo (crab omelet), I particularly want to highlight their fantastic selection of delicious vegetarian dishes! They truly excel at crafting flavorful options for those who prefer plant-based meals, making it a great choice for diverse groups. Don't forget to finish your meal with their refreshing Coconut Ice Cream. While the restaurant doesn't have its own dedicated parking, there's paid parking available right next door, which is convenient. This place feels very local and authentic, yet it also attracts private tour groups of foreigners eager to sample its genuine flavors. Despite its popularity, the atmosphere is never chaotic, allowing for a pleasant dining experience. I highly, highly recommend Krua Apsorn for anyone looking for a truly authentic and delicious Thai dining experience, whether you're a meat-eater or a vegetarian!"

"A great place to eat if you're in the old town of Bangkok. Their crab omelette is excellent with a great amount of crab. We wanted to try the shrimp curry with lotus shoots but was informed that it could not be made less spicy, so we instead got the green curry with fish balls and it was quite good. We also had the pork with birds eye chili, but I felt it was a little too similar to the green curry as it had all the same vegetables."

"And that tiny missing spark of heat? Well, that’s on me. Krua Apsorn isn’t trying to blow your head off—it’s cooking for people who actually want to taste the crab, the kaffir lime, the turmeric, the balance. And they succeed. Brilliantly. But as someone who enjoys a gentle punch from a fresh chili now and then, I found myself wishing for just a little more fire. Nothing dramatic—just that lift that makes you lean back and smile because Thailand has once again reminded you who's in charge. Still, the craft here is undeniable. There’s a confidence in the cooking that doesn’t need theatrics: no mountain of chilies, no unnecessary garnishes, no shortcuts. Just honest, well-judged flavors that respect the ingredients and the traditions they come from. It’s the kind of place where you can bring anyone—seasoned traveler, picky eater, or your friend who thinks “medium spicy” is a threat—and they’ll all walk out happy. So yes, 4.5 out of 5. If I could give halves, I would. Krua Apsorn delivers food that feels both familiar and quietly impressive."

"When Bangkok empties out during the Songkran holiday, it’s a good time to visit famous eateries that are usually packed with locals and tourists. We took advantage of a much quieter Bangkok to visit Krua Apsorn last Thursday and what a good decision that was. Of the dishes we ordered - the seafood yum won seen (vermicelli salad), chicken fried rice, stir fried telosma cordata flowers, squid salad, stinky bean salad, fishball curry stood out. They were sensational. The dishes stood out for their freshness, clean flavors, balance, and cooking perfection. They let the ingredients speak for themselves - a nice change from some eateries that often overdo the seasoning or cooking or spice. Not all Thai cuisine is hot and spicy. Next level home cooking is a good way to describe Krua Apsorn’s menu and finished product. Prices are also okay for this quality of food, and the restaurant’s global reputation (great reviews from The NY Times & Guardian & more). Often hyped eateries don’t live up to the reputation but this isn’t the case for Krua Apsorn and we’re already looking forward to our next visit to try their signature crab curry and crab omelette dishes."
